ABOUT

the woman behind may

In my family, jewellery was never just decoration. It was beauty, yes, but it was also security. An investment. Something tangible you could carry if you ever had to leave everything else behind. That understanding, that jewellery holds both value and meaning, shaped generations before me.

These women were never garish. Everything was considered. Balanced. Intentional.

I took it further.

I grew up around remodelled heirlooms, reset stones, and countless workshop visits. Birthdays were marked with pieces. Chapters were sealed in metal and stone and I learned early that proportion matters. Weight matters. Craftsmanship matters.

How something wears matters.

I’ve never formally studied jewellery - I’ve lived it. It’s been there in every milestone, every redesign, every instinctive purchase. Inherited pieces. Newly bought treasures. Old jewellery made new again. Second-hand finds fallen for instantly.

Today, May Jewellery brings all of that together - pre-loved pieces selected with a trained eye and a collector’s discipline. Fine and costume sit side by side. Subtle can live next to statement. Every piece is chosen for its presence and most importantly, for how it empowers the person wearing it.

Jewellery, to me, has always been more than an accessory.

It’s history.
It’s sentiment.
It’s armour.

And it’s in my veins.

quality not just quantity

Curation is more than instinct - it requires judgement.

Every piece is assessed carefully. I look at proportion and weight first, then construction and condition. How it sits on the body matters. How it moves matters. How it will age over time matters.

I source from antique fairs, private dealers, auctions, and trusted specialists across the UK and Europe. Some pieces reveal themselves immediately. Others take months to find. Not everything makes it through.

Condition, hallmarks, craftsmanship, and integrity are all considered - but above all, a piece must have presence.

Fine metals, plated pieces, heirloom gold, and bold costume jewellery - they aren’t separated by category here. They’re united by standard.

If something doesn’t hold up in the hand, it doesn’t make it to the collection.

For me, curation is as much about discernment as it is indulgence.

PREPARED TO BE WORN

Every piece that passes through May Jewellery is handled with attention and respect.

Before it reaches you, it is gently cleaned and polished, prepared to be worn and enjoyed from the moment it arrives. Pre-loved jewellery carries history, and part of its beauty lies in that character.

Nothing is overworked. Nothing is stripped of its story.

Each piece is presented at its best, ready for its next chapter.
